(About the Groom)

Jason Gregg Trostle was born in 1970, the third and youngest son of Dave and Lynette Trostle.  Born in San Diego, California, he and his family relocated to Pensacola, FL when Jason was three years old, remaining here following Dave's retirement from the U.S. Navy.  He attended Ferry Pass Elementary School and Ferry Pass Middle School in Pensacola, and graduated from the former Woodham High School in 1988.  Upon his graduation from high school, Jason enlisted as a Private (E-1) in the U.S. Marine Corps, where he would eventually become a veteran of the first Gulf War

Following boot camp at Parris Island, S.C., he attended Combat Engineer School at Camp Lejeune, N.C.  Upon graduation, he remained at Camp Lejeune as a member of the 8th Engineer Support Battalion for three years.  During this time, he went to Honduras, where he built schools, upgraded roads, and worked on similar community projects over the course of six months.  Several months after his return from Honduras, he was sent to Iraq for the Persian Gulf War on the U.S.S. Trenton, LPD 14; he was "on float" for eight months.  Upon repatriation, he returned to Honduras for another three months of community building projects.

His next duty station in the U.S. was Marine Wing Support Squadron 271 (MWSS-271), in nearby Cherry Point, N.C. for another three years.  He attended Recruiting School at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, CA, before relocating to Seattle, WA, where he spent a year and a half enlisted recruiting and a year and a half as an officer recruiter.  After over ten years in the Marine Corps, Jason temporarily separated from the service in 1999, with the intention of completing his college education – a requirement for those seeking commission as Officers of Marines.  Jason attended Columbia College's satellite campus located in Marysville, WA.

In the summer of 2000, he attended and successfully completed Officer Candidate School in Quantico, VA.  In 2001, Jason graduated from Columbia College with a Bachelor of Arts in General Studies.  Upon his graduation he was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps.  In November 2001 he attended The Basic School, a six month school where newly commissioned USMC officers are sent to learn the art and science of being an Officer of Marines.  Jason attended Adjutant's School in Camp Lejeune, N.C., then worked as the Adjutant for 1st Battalion, 11th Marines, at Camp Pendleton, CA.  In 2003, he was promoted to First Lieutenant (O-2E).

In May 2006, Jason returned to his hometown of Pensacola, where his family still resides, to assume the post of Adjutant at Marine Aviation Training and Support Group 21 (MATSG-21), aboard Naval Air Station Pensacola, FL.  He was promoted to the rank of Captain (O-3E) in June 2006.  In June 2009, he will be scheduled to report to a new duty station, the location of which remains to be determined.  In 2012, he will be eligible for retirement at the rank of Major (O-4).  He loves to ride his Ducati, watch Stargate, and play Everquest; he puts koozies on everything.

He loves her more.
