Angela is the All-American Girl. She has worked and excelled at many things in life, and has always been a great friend. She currently works in sales and marketing, and lives with her husband and their insane cat, Amelia.
Ange and I met in 1998, during one of my many visits up north. My then-boyfriend was in the same fraternity as her then-boyfriend (now husband). As fraternity events called for dates to be invited, Ange and I became closer and closer friends, and had fun helping each other get gussied-up before semi-formals. She and her husband, both on their school's rowing teams, were the first to suggest I become a coxswain for the rowing team at Syracuse (even though my stint on the team was short-lived, it was fun, and I'm glad they put the bug in my ear). Seeing how much Angela loved her sorority in college led me to decide to pledge when I transferred to Syracuse (where I wound up in Pi Beta Phi).
Eventually, years flew by before we even knew it.... We'd kept in touch after we both graduated from our respective universities, and even as my then-boyfriend and I were on again/off again for several years, she always had words of advice and comfort for me. Angela was always the one to talk me off my ledges -- and still is, to this day. Even after I'd moved to Pensacola, she was my rock in a hard place (haha). She is the kind of friend who moves heaven and earth to help the people she loves, and the kind of person that you'd happily move heaven and earth to help in return.
She's one of the most classy, elegant and outgoing people I know, and her wit and intellect run circles around mine. Ange is one of a handful of people with whom I feel I can always, always be myself; she is friendly without deceit, helpful without judgment, genuine without expectations. We can talk about politics and Roman emperors one minute, and SNL and the New Kids on the Block the next -- who else could seamlessly interweave people like Kenneth Starr and Ken Paves into the same discussion?! Every conversation with her is engaging, and every time we're together, I feel like we've known each other our whole lives.
I am humbled and honored by her presence in our bridal party, and our lives.
